"Oh shit, what do you know, my unconditional love is a fucking joke"
"I will be waiting, I’ll just keep waiting for you"
"When I got home, I lay down on the floor
I thought I’d love you forever
I outlined myself in chalk to save the police the work
If I’m ever discovered”
Im going to the doctors tomoz for probably the 4th time so i can get a counselor. Im gonna also ask for a script of anti depressants and abuse the shit out of them :’)
Washer - Slint
Neutral Milk Hotel — Oh Comely
Oh comely, I will be with you when you lose your breath, Chasing the only meaningful memory you thought you had left.
Two - The Antlers
You had a new dream, it was more like a nightmare,
You were just a little kid, and they cut your hair,
Then they stuck you in machines, you came so close to dying,
They should have listened, they thought that you were lying,
Daddy was an asshole, he fucked you up,
Built the gears in your head, now he greases them up,
And no one paid attention when you just stopped eating,
"Eighty-seven pounds!" and this all bears repeating.
This is one of my favorite songs lyrically, everything is written so well and it really has one of the best tones I’ve ever heard.
The lyrics paint a picture really clearly, as Peter rattles off these lines as quickly as he can to get them out in a linear but frenzied way. It seems so genuine coming from him, and he really sounds sad in a way that you know something has happened and he can’t change it. One of the best parts of the song is the contrast of the melodies and instruments as they are playing what is a seemingly happy song, while the lyrics are really showing a dark story and it comes together in a perfect way.
I really wish that I could write lyrics that could say so much in so little.
this is really bad
